If you're thinking about learning hypnosis or hypnotherapy or ehancing your present hypnosis skills, you should consider what type or style of hypnosis do you want to learn and what do you want to use it for, because not all hypnosis is the same?

The answer to the question is yes, as long as the individual has some intelligence and is capable of speaking. The complexity of the matter is that there are many different styles of hypnosis - Traditional Ericksonian Elman etc etc, and there are many things called hypnosis which really are not ? NLP immediately springs to mind, so does Hypnosis Without Trance and Covert Hypnosis which would be more accurately described as methods of influence.

What are the main differences between Hypnosis and Mesmerism? At the outset hypnosis relies on sound and words to induce a state of trance, whilst Mesmerism uses very few words and can automatically promote a state of trance. The Mesmeric trance state is different from the trance state that results from verbally induced hypnosis. Mesmerism is helpful for Psycho Somatic conditions, whereas verbal hypnosis seems more effective for habits and behavioral changes. The combination of both in the possession of a skilled therapist is a very powerful change tool.

Mesmerism is commonly defined as the transfer of ethereal fluid (energy) from the Mesmerist to a client to induce a trance state. It was developed in the late 1700's by Franz Anton Mesmer wherein the word Mesmerism came from. When using the Mesmeric, or Magnetic state, the energy that is being used by the Mesmerist has the ability to reconcile and heal the issues that is present with the client. The training of Mesmerism is becoming more and more popular with trainings offered by Rick Collingwood at The Australian Academy of Hypnosis in Melbourne, Australia.

I am often asked by hypnotherapists about Medicare and private health fund rebates, there seems to be more confusion about this among professional hypnotherapists than what there is among the general public. Some people even go and do training under a poorly explained or even misleading interpretation that they will be issued a provider number that will allow their clients to claim back consultation and treatment for clinical hypnosis and hypnotherapy fees. Hopefully this information will help to clarify the matter at least in Australia.

A lot has been said on the importance of setting goals, so it’s nothing new. However there’s a certain way to set goals. Goals get you thinking in the right way to wealth, they focus your thoughts. There is a right way and a wrong way to set goals. Format them in the right way; keep your images and motivations consistent and not random.
